FAQs
What is vocal improvisation?
Vocal improvisation is about creating something new without any preparation or planning. Improvising offers a creative, nonverbal means of expressing thoughts and feelings. Circle Singing London exercises give you a structure that supports (and inspires) you from the beginning to the end so that you always have something to lean on.

I cannot sing a simple melody. Can I still join in?
Of course! Circle meetings are about finding your sound without any pressure. In one way, our lives are full of daily improvisations. In the sense that we always make things up as we go along. The more we master our voices, the more freely we use them and the more we understand ourselves.

I am a professional singer. How will I benefit from it?
Circle Singing London gives you new tools to explore your voice. This will help you develop your vocal creativity and spontaneity. Each session is a journey of self-discovery based on collaboration and exploration. It is a great way to step outside your comfort zone and create new, surprising songs.

What is your cancellation policy?
A no-cancellation policy. Fees are non-refundable. That said, your ticket is transferable. Therefore, if you cannot come, you can send someone in your place. In this case, please email me the name of the person.

What if I am running late?
Online: Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate participants who arrive 6 min after the start of the session because they may have missed the introduction and warm-ups. Missing warm-ups increases the risk of injury.
In-person: Arrival 5 min early is advised. In this way, you find your place in the room and get to know others. The door will close at 7.05 pm. Unfortunately, there is no other person who can let you in after 7.05pm. No refunds will be issued once the session/workshop begins.

Where exactly am I going?
Online: Zoom. The link is sent to you within 48 hours of your booking. Each session is live only; recordings are unavailable because the results are more powerful when sessions are live.
In person: We will be in the Chapel behind The Gallery Café (E2 9PL). You will receive detailed instructions in an email that will be sent to you after your booking.
Also, there is space to lock up your bikes.

Why are there no recordings of the workshops/sessions?
The reason for this decision is that the participants who join are present and ready to work. They are prepared, and the environment around them is set up to get the most out of the work. Therefore, the results are more powerful. It creates the feeling that we are all together in one room.

What if I made my booking in the last minute?
Online: No worries. An email containing all essential information will be manually sent to you shortly. However, if the booking is made 2 minutes before the beginning of the session/workshop, a confirmation email cannot be sent, and your payment cannot be refunded because I need to focus on welcoming the group. Therefore, the last booking that is accepted is received 2 minutes before the start of the particular session/workshop.
In-person: No problem. Come and join us.

Anything else I should be aware of?
Yes. We might work without shoes. Sometimes, we can lie on the floor. Please bring water and extra clothing (if you get cold easily).
I recommend refraining from eating 2 hours before the workshop and ensuring that you are hydrated 2 hours before the workshop starts.

After your booking, you will receive an email containing the essential details.

We will be waiting, as we have always been, beyond the edges of music sheets.
